ready or not, she's not here yet!

I woke up this morning to an empty bassinet and very big belly--

which means, our little girl is officially late. I really can't blame her though.  I'm kind of late for a lot of things, myself! I guess I'll go tidy the nursery one more time...

My dear friend Shirley made our little girl one of her famous "Joy" banners. Isn't it sweet? She recently passed away, and I'm so glad I have something to remind me of her sweet, sassy spirit!  I can't think of a better wish for my little girl than  for her to be able to find joy in her life.  Note:This has been strategically placed above the changing table...so that even when I'm changing diapers all day, I can be reminded of the reasons why it's a JOY to be a mother, too.

  1. I love that quilt on the rocking chair, too. What a beautiful room! I hope our girls decide to come soon because my heartburn is killing me. Our nursery isn't even close to being finished, I'm so proud of you.

  2. Candace,

You look so cute! Good luck with having the baby, I hope she doesn't keep you waiting too long. I love your nursery, especially the cute quilt on the rocking chair. You and C should go and have a date night or something fun while you wait. I am excited to see pictures when she decides to make her appearance.

  5. JOY! Being a Mother is joyful and you're turn is just around the bend. Hold on. Enjoy your last few moments before your entire world changes. What a lovely spot to hang Shirley's banner. I'll be happy to come change baby's nappies and remember why you hung it there :)

  8. The thought of you as a mom makes me happier than almost any other thought I can think of :). If that sounds sappy, so be it. Truly, you are amazing and I'm so happy for that little bean of yours. I'd love to be a fly on the wall and learn how to be a mom extraordinaire from you!
