eleven months +

We just can't believe how old she is getting! She has taken 10 steps in a row, but still prefers to crawl. She finally has some teeth growing in--her two bottom ones. She also is finally sleeping through the night (let's hope it lasts). Oh, and she is potty trained! OK, just kidding.

She loves to eat dirt and play with the hose. She could put her shoes on and off and read books all day long. She's climbing stairs like a pro (still working on the belly-slide down the stairs, though). She hates her car seat but loves her stroller. She is quick to point out all the flowers, school signs and fire hydrants. Oh, and the doggies of course.

And she is building quite the vocabulary. Daddy, doggie and ducky all sound the same...but those are three of her favorite things so we tend to hear it a lot. She also says mommy and hi and hat. She knows a few signs, too. She will do the sign for please and come here and loves to do the hand motions for "no more monkeys" and "itsy bitsy spider."

It's true what they say...

When you love someone and you love something, you just HAVE to share the thing with the one.  I couldn't bare the thought of an entire year passing without visiting my favorite place on earth. So, it was perhaps a bit selfish to drag little 15-day old Rosie on a long car ride in a seat she hates...but I think it was all worth it.

The lake was beautiful as usual.

Miss R loved looking at it. All day long. When she should have been sleeping.

I got to watch the sunrise both mornings while she ate her first breakfast.

She fussed and was fussed about.

And, as is usual for this place, some good memories were made!

My Favorite Place on Earth

Taken Fall 2005.
I'm thinking about hanging this one on my wall.
But, I think that about almost every photo of this place.

It's 10/10 everyone

So it's been 10 days since I stopped storing September. The first part of October has brought a work retreat (well, technically it started on the last day of september), a trip to my favorite place on earth, and a totally crazy R.S. activity.

Work and Play
I spent a day here

with them.

We did a lot of brainstorming for the magazine, learned about communications styles, built balloon towers among other team building activities, and got a free night at Zermatt Resort in Heber. Sounds like a good deal to me.

At the Cabin for Conference
Other than the snow, Bear Lake was a perfect conference weekend get away.

My cousin Alyssa came with us. She has red hair and is an artist...I'm 100 percent jealous.

Kiss the Cook
The Relief Society Octoberfest was today--10/10 at 10 a.m., we had pumpkin waffles with orange butter, nutmeg syrup and toasted pecans and played a pretty noisy game of getting to know you BINGO. All the while C1 was cooking up our waffles and cleaning up. You can see more photos on our new ward blog that we introduced today.

Nothing like a sunburn and a crazy man in a Speedo

a few things to note about my most recent trip to Bear Lake...So, there was quite the performance going on to the north of our beach plot...the speedo man was doing a marching routine to Yankee Doodle. There was a second speedo man, but I figured posting a picture of one man in a speedo was pushing things...
talk about a cute beach outfit! For a baby--not for me. I must admit, this boy has no relation to me...my camera just has a super-awesome zoom (as if it wasn't apparent from the first photo). These were our beach neighbors to the South--much more civilized and sober.
Every year my family gives out meaningless awards...this buried young man received the "best beach body" award...no explanation necessary. Last year Christian received "the short bus" award...this year he shared a mini harp award with two others who forgot their underwear. We still have no idea what the harp has to do with forgetting your underwear--any ideas? Luckily for Christian, it was a short trip.

oh, Bear Lake! I miss it already.
