life really is like a box of chocolates

Sweet, smooth, crunchy, dark, light, fruity, nutty, strictly chocolatey, square, round, dipped, drizzled, surprising, risky, and well, a whole lot of decisions.

I have a hard time choosing my chocolate...it may be because I don't want to "waste" calories on a poor or rushed decision or because they all look too good and I just can't possibly decide. Because of that, I often times end up passing the box without taking one at all.
There are some people who will poke the bottom of the chocolate to see what's inside..."oh, not that one...not that one," poking as many as they'd like until they make a decision and leave the rest to ooze in their wrappers.

While I don't do that with chocolates, I actually do think it's important to do that with life. Sometimes you have to poke around a lot of chocolates to find out what's best for you...and sometimes you know you're looking for a carmel or a fruit cream...and other times you're hoping you'll recognize the right filling when you see it (keep in mind this is coming from the girl who went to 3 different universities and changed her major 4 times her first 3 semesters of college).

Well, this week, I felt like a sticky-fingered girl staring at a huge box of chocolates with oozing centers.  I hemmed and hawed over which of the pretty little treats I should choose. When it came time to pass the box, I reached out and grabbed one...and I'm actually pretty excited with my choice.

Turns out, that you really can call me Lois because next week, I'll take my sticky fingers and start working as an assistant editor at Utah Business Magazine.  Mmmmm....chocolate.
