Well, I'm not exactly in North Carolina but South is as close as I'm getting. After a long 2 days in Augusta, Georgia I was ready for some good eats. I went to an award-winning dessert cafe called
Nonnah's.
I decided to go with the "Mushroom Bake," a vegetarian dish with a portobello mushroom stuffed with mozzarella cheese, topped with a tomato slice, goat cheese, sweet tomato garnish, drizzled with a balsamic reduction, and accompanied by zucchini. All plated in a delicious champagne sauce. mmmm.
After such a complicated dish, I had to go for simplicity with my dessert. Simple as apple pie.
