to do and NOT to do

Stuff I hope I never do (or in some cases, never do again)
  • suppress a generous thought
  • do my hair like I did in the 5th grade
  • call myself fat or stupid in front of my daughter (really I shouldn't do it at all)
  • forget who's in charge of my life
  • eat crisco-based frosting
  • think too much about tomorrow and not enough about today
  • make my kids be something I am instead of letting them be who they are
  • want money more than happiness
  • wake up wishing I lived someone else's life (it's OK if that's how the day ends...)
  • pretend to be someone I'm not

Stuff I hope I eventually do
  • choreograph a tap dance
  • learn to play a song on the piano--like a real song
  • open an etsy shop--or some kind of business
  • regularly bake bread instead of buy it
  • paint a picture of Bear Lake
  • run (or at least walk) a mile every day
  • be a good neighbor all the time
  • stop and smell the roses
  • listen before I talk
  • become a True Aggie

Does anyone else make lists like this? If so, do you actually DO (or not do...) the things on them? Notice none of these have time frames or ways to measure if I've actually accomplished them.  But at least I have it written down. That's a start, right?

  1. Oooo fun, can I be in your tap dance? It's the one kind of dance I just might have a chance at.

  2. "Never suppress a generous thought" is one of my very favorite quotes. It was actually the basis for my last lesson in RS. Love it.

In the spirit of never suppressing a generous thought -- my coworker (Celestyn from USU, I think you know her?!) and I were gushing about your little cutie today. She's so, so sweet!

  3. I was in a tap dance if you recall . . . at the same time you were dancing on stage. It was a rather strange thing to do but it was quite fun and daring. It wasn't on my list of "to do's" but it should have been. I'll have to work on my list and share it later :)

  4. I once was in a dance for a road show about 10 years ago...there were several middle aged women (I was on the younger end of middle aged back then) I just ended up as comedy relief (sort of like Alice in the Brady Bunch) anyway, I was glad when it was over and also a little sad because I knew that was the extend of my dancing career...
