i LOVE my mechanic

can any of you say that? If you can't, it's time you give my mechanic, Paul a call.

I know nothing about cars--here's proof:

Paul: Candace, the most concerning thing is your spark plugs are in really bad shape
Me: oh, is that why my defroster doesn't work?
Paul: . . .
Christian: ha ha ha
Me: Christian, what's so funny!??
Christian: How embarrassing

For those of you who are as bright as me--spark plugs are what start your engine and play a much bigger role than keeping your defrost going.

I had a "whole laundry list" of things to fix on my car and Paul took me under the hood to the engine and battery and belts and stuff and showed me everything that was wrong. He explained to me what would happen if I didn't get things fixed and rated my problems A, B, and C so I'd know which were most important to fix. I've never been so happy to spend money on my car before. Really--have any of you ever been excited to fix your car and spend $$?? I hadn't either.

He also told me that whoever did my break pads last time used shoddy material...very useful info--those cheapskates! I can't remember who did my break pads...but it doesn't matter, my car's heart belongs to Paul at Straight Line Automotive and will never see anyone else.

  1. i could teach you how to do your brakes. it would cost you 35$ at most for new brake pads. and it would take you 15 minutes. I can also teach you how to change your spark plugs. It would cost you less than 20$ for them if you buy them at an auto store.

    just sayin'....

  4. Oh Candace... that makes me feel so much better! When I was in high school, my brothers had me convinced that there was blinker fluid in the car.... yeah. I feel your pain.
