The Amazing Race 2

My work got a little CRAZY last Friday...the poster below gives you the basics.

We carried around watermelons all day--we could only use TRAXX and, I had to shoot a bow and arrow, eat BBQ flavored bugs, eat the watermelons we carried around, and lots of other "amazing" things.

If you want to see some of us in action, check out KSL's report here. Yeah, that's right, we're cool enough to make the news (and we just happen to place stories for a living...)

Two favorite stories from the day:

One group thought public transportation included hitch-hiking...and their driver they picked up was under the impression that they were part of the real TV show The Amazing Race. When the car behind them started honking when he slowed to let them out, he got quite upset and with a loud voice yelled "hey, they're in the amazing race, back off!"

Another moment worth sharing: My friend Hilarye (like me) was faced with the reality that she would be eating bugs...this was pretty late in the race, we were all exhausted and had just stuffed our face with watermelon, and then ran a 1/2 mile counting parking meters around Library Square downtown. It was the last straw for her--but before she could let her emotion completely take over, Dan, our co-worker on an opposing team, reached out and grabbed all of her bugs, stuffed them in his mouth and off Hilarye's team went. Now that's what I call a HERO!!

  1. It's true- Dan pretty much was a hero at that moment. We all kind of stared at him with mouths open in awe- then we realized it was a race- and off we went!
